Bangla Nationals in North East since 1971, today’s NIBBUSS?
Guwahati/March 20, (Prag News Desk): To the point where the Nikhil Bharat Bangali Udbastu Samanvay Samiti out of the oblivion demanded that Hindu Bengali community coming into India from Bangladesh must be asserted as Indian nationals, the CIA asserts the “community” had been part of huge influx since 1971-83.
The consistent migration which was mostly for economic restoration in India, the CIA report indicates that more than 11 lakhs Bangladeshis entered three states of the North East. The gloomy picture continues which around 6 lakh Bangladeshis entering Assam in the year 1983. This economic influx not only affected the border ties between the two countries but also resulted in bitter-soar revolution, “Assam Andolan”.
It is now a major concern that the influx of Bangladeshis into North East still continues which adversely affects the result of foreign funds invested.
Now with NIBBUSS demanding that the “Bengali-Hindu” Bangladeshis be considered as “Indians” seems outrageous a demand given the orientation of a country and it’s people at large.
