Preceding storms, Namami Brahmaputra postponed.
Guwahati/ 4th April’2017 (Prag News Desk): With more than 700 houses destroyed so far and the alarming rise at the banks of Brahmaputra, the Dibrugrah District Administration has temporarily suspended Namami Brahmaputra festival in due to sudden rise in water level in the river.
Heavy rains have distrupted the vast chunk of daily lives across the State. Barpeta, Bongaigoan, Cachar, Dima Hasao, Golpara, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Kamrup, Karimganj are one of the most affected parts, worstly lashed by heavy rains.
Also, flood alert is sent across in Majuli as the rains are likely to get heavier in the preceding days, the Regional Meterology Centre (RMC) reported.
