Post 12 years of review, the Accord will not be diluted says Rajnath
Guwahati/ 27th of April (Prag News Desk): The historic Assam Accord that paved paths of in the 1985 agitation. Today, after 12 years, the first review of the Accord gets a “no dilution” initiation by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
This is an essential step by the Centre that pledges to protect territorial sanctity at the Indo-Bangla border. This assurance was provided in a tripartite meeting among the Centre, the State Government and All Assam Students’ Union.
Home Minister rest assurance to the ASSU that the Spirit of Assam Accord will not be diluted at any cost. The meeting also suggested that the Union is committed to update the NRC exercise in Assam and provide with constitutional and economic safeguard to the indigenous people of Assam.
