Against the horrific mutilation of soldiers, Pakistan still hopeful about the water management deal with India.
Guwahati/ 3rd May’2017 (Prag News Desk): The mutilation of our soldiers by the Border Action Team (BAT) in LoC have shook every countrymen and amidst all, Pakistan still hopes to work out the joint mechanism with New Delhi and Afghanistan for watershed management and trans-boundary aquifer sharing.
This is a step towards minimizing the negative impact of development projects between India and Afghanistan at the borders by the neighbor. At the moment Pakistan faces water crisis and sorting out with the Indus Waters Treaty, Pakistan will be able to solve water availability crisis during low flow periods.
After the mutilation of two soldiers, Pakistan have blatantly denied the shameful act, however the fact is Pakistan violated the ceasefire to provide cover to BAT and laid an ambush to trap an Indian patrol team.
BAT Pakistan is equipped with army as well as soldiers who often intrude into the LoC and after Pakistan’s denial, the relationship with India has been further worsened.
