Government of India concerns over the growing radical activities in Bangladesh
Guwahati/ 15th May’2017 (Prag News Desk): Increasing radical activities in Bangladesh triggered in the states of West Bengal and Assam has become a cause of serious concern for the Government of India. Although Bangladesh is extending full-cooperation to India in resolving the problem of insurgency. For this both the nations have adopted “real time intelligence” inputs to deal with the forces.
However, this surgical methods have to be cautiously applied as Myanmar too is home to militants and any smoke will fire Assam and West Bengal, states which are most vulnerable. Another challenge that is faced in operating “real time intelligence” tools is the population concentration shared on these international borders.
There are lot of active insurgent groups in North east that enjoys resources from Myanmar, with larger members of the Khaplang function,number of Manipur insurgent outfits, NSCN(K) outfits,National Democratic Front of Bodoland and ULFA (United Liberation Front of Assam).
The security on these borders are likely to go under the scanner qith Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh reviewing the overall security scenario on May 16.
