SEBA grace limits at 5 by a panel of vice chancellors.
Guwahati/ 16th May’2017 (Prag News Desk): The State Government constituted a panel of four vice chancellors to examine the grace marks system in the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA).
The support of imbibing the moderation policy in to SEBA board continues as a internationally and nationally accepted system. The panel suggested that the board must use scientific tools to implement a moderation education system.
Grace marks should be given in maximum three papers and the maximum grace marks awarded in one paper should be five. In case of out-of-syllabus questions, full marks should be given to the students, the panel of VC’s recommended along with categorizing long-term and short-term measures.
The panel consisting of the VCs of Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University and Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University was constituted by the government to probe into the ‘hidden’ grace marks controversy.
