Bibungsar, first one from a Bodo medium school to secure rank.
Guwahati/ 1st June’2017 (Prag News Desk): Bibungsar Basumatary becomes the first student from a Bodo medium school to secure a rank in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination.
A permanent resident at Baksa have secured the tenth rank scoring 580 marks out of 600. What makes his feat most remarkable is the fact that he is a student of Upendra National Academy, a private school not yet recognized thus bringing Bibungsar to the Barpeta Road Bodo High School, he appeared for the examinations.
The Bodo medium schools were first set up in the year 1963. There are around 700 Bodo medium high schools in the State today and with the consistent efforts ABSU, the number of first division holders jumped to 1,174 and this year it went further up to 1,352.
