APSC cash for job scam leads to vacancies, Government’s efforts to restore image.
Guwahati/ 4th June’2017 (Prag News Desk): The APSC cash-for-job scam was a big blow to the institution and of late, the delay of the State Government in filling up the vacant posts of members of the Assam Public Service Commission has become a problem. It has adversely affected the functioning of the Commission.
The State government is making consistent efforts to restore the image of the Commission marred by the scam that includes the arrest of the chairman.
Now, APSC is taking directive measures, one of which is to declare the results of the interviews within the shortest possible time.
Currently, the operative body of APSC has three members, including the acting chairman, while according to recommendations of various committees such as the TL Baruah Committee and MP Bezbaruah Committee.
The interviews for the civil services examination, 2015 would be conducted from June 7 to 23 for 124 posts, the results of which will be to announced within five days post interview.
According to sources: the preliminary examination for the civil services examination, 2016, across 59 centres will be held on 2nd of July.
