Paresh Barua joins in the race post Khaplang’s demise.
Guwahati/ 12th June’2017 (Prag News Desk): As the probables of the ULFA(I) chief Paresh Barua of becoming the leader of the umbrella organization of all the militant groups of Northeast India beats the heat in the nation. Director General of Assam Police Mukesh Sahay however stated that it is a mere speculation.
The situation is that post the demise of NSCN(K) chairman SS Khaplang who was also the god father of the umbrella militant organization, the race has already begun among the top leaders of militant outfits of the northeastern region to fill in the gap.
Incidentalluy, ULFA(I) chief Paresh Baruah was the deputy to Khaplang in the umbrella organisation of the militant outfits which was called the United Liberation Front of Western South East Asia. The individual who initiated the move to form an alliance among the insurgent groups of the region.
However according to sources, Khango Konyak has taken over the charge of NSCN(K) and also has possessed power to head the militant outfits under the umbrella organisation.
However, now post deliberation among these sitting militant leaders, the successor is eyed to be revealed soon.
