Bangladesh, Northeast India landslide, flooding kills 147
Guwahati/ 14th June’2017 (Prag News Desk): At least 147 people died in Bangladesh and Northeast India after heavy rains triggered a series of landslide and flooding over the past two days. Densely populated Bangladesh every year people suffer from heavy floods, storms and landslide for rainy season. Landslide took place in hilly districts in the southeast on Tuesday kills 98 in Rangamati, 32 in Chittagong and six in Bandarban. Many people are missing and death toll could rise as said by disaster management officials. Death toll includes four soldiers who were trapped by a landslide after they joined the rescue operation in Rangamati district of Bangladesh. Two Bangladesh government official said outside help might not be needed. In 2007, nearby 130 people lost their lives due to landslide in Chittagong.
