OIL confers monetary help to poor students to get into IIT, NIT
Guwahati/ 14th June’2017 (Prag News Desk): The success story of Ajoy Doley-an orphan belonging to the economically backward Nahar Gezera village in Dhemaji district qualified for the prestigious IIT by cracking JEE Advance securing the 400th rank in the ST category with the rigorous assistence from Oil India Super 30.
The Oil India Super 30 is a social initiative of the Oil India Limited. It has helped 99 economically backward yet meritorious students to qualify for admissions into prestigious institutions like IIT, NIT and other engineering institutes. The project is in association with the Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL) has helped underprivileged students to crack the country’s most competitive entrance examinations. Ashapriya Borgohain follows the similar pursuit. She cracked the JEE (Advance) with free year-long coaching from Oil India Super 30.
In the current year 2016-17, the Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership with the support from Oil India prepared some 147 students for various competitive exams particularly JEE Mains and JEE Advanced in their five ‘Oil India Super 30’ coaching centres. Out of 147 students, 122 cleared the JEE Mains and among the 122 students 99 cracked the JEE Advance examination.
