Train proposal to world’s wettest place: Meghalaya CM
Guwahati/16th June’2017 (Prag News Desk): Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma proposed Northeast Frontier Railways official to work for railway connectivity between Meghalaya capital Shillong to Sohra.
CM Mukul Sangma’s meeting with railways officials on Thursday for new railway link between Shillong to Sohra would produce opportunities to the locals on the other people would use the railway for tourism.
Saghma also added it railway service from Shillong to Sohra would attract the people and tourist to visit again and again to watch the beautiful view of Meghalaya. Apart from it this train ride will be kind place for the couples to enjoy their honeymoon and enjoying their marriage anniversary.
This railway project will not only build up Meghalaya as an important tourist place of the country but it can also rule as a world as a favorite tourist spot.
In November 2014, Mendipathar in Garo Hills which was the first railway station constructed in Meghalaya inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. This railway track is of 19.47kms connecting Mendipathar to Dudhnoi of Goalpara District of Assam.
Sohra known as the wettest place on earth which is situated 50kms away from the capital of Meghalaya.
