Meghalaya basketball team missed national championship for financial crisis

Guwahati/ 1st of July’2017 (Prag News Desk): State basketball players of Meghalaya will not be able to participate in upcoming 34th Youth national Basketball Championship due to financial crisis.

Donald Steven Wahlang, Joint Secretary, Meghalaya Basketball Association says, “Our association is facing financial crisis for which our team will not be able to participate in the championship tournament this year.”

“I apologies to the youth of my State and promised to participate for the next year national championship,” added Wahlang.

Three referees Bhabok L Nonglait, Ronald Kharumnuid and Khrawkupar Khongliar were selected to appear for Basketball Referees Examination to be held at Hyderabad for 34th Youth national Basketball Championship.

Selected referees arrives Hyderabad on Thursday.

Meghalaya Basketball Association to organise The Meghalaya Open Basketball Championship 2017 for men and women to be start from 1st week of August.
