India positive start in 22nd Asian Athletics Championships

Guwahati/ 6th July’2017 (Prag News Desk): India positively campaign on the opening day of the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships held at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

India’s Muhammed Anas, Rajiv Arokia and Amoj Jacob enters into the semi-finals of the men’s 400 metres event.

Muhammed finished second in Heat 1 behind Sri Lanka’s Dilip Ruwan where Rajiv took the lead.

Jacob struggles to finish as the winner in his heat.

India’s lead runners staging a dramatic comeback.

Ahmed Mubarak of Oman claims Asian indoor championships bronze Heat 4.

India’s Ajay Kumar Saroj set the pace in Heat 1 and Siddharth Adhikary qualified from Heat 2 in men’s 1500m.

In the women’s 1500m, Chitra PU qualified for the semi-finals from Heat 2 while Monika Chaudhary knocked out after finishing in fourth place in Heat 1.

In the men’s decathlon Kazuya Kawasaki of Japan took an early lead with the 100m sprint leg of the event.
