Vodafone offering free talk-time in flood affected region in Northeast


Guwahati/ 7th July’2017 (Prag News Desk): Major telecom service Vodafone offered free talk-time to people in flood region in Northeast.

An initiative by Vodafone will be available in specific region of Kamrup, Karimganj and Bongaigaon in Assam, Ukhrool and Bishnupur in Manipur and in north Tripura.

This is a one-time service were victims will get 50-minute free talk-time to contact anyone in emergencies situation.

Nidhi Lauria, Vodafone India Business Head of Assam & Northeast circle says, “Northeast affected by heavy flood due to full force of monsoon. We are offering 50 minutes of free talk-time to all the customers affected by in the region.”


“This free service will continue till end of monsoon season. Around 15 thousand people were covered under the scheme so far,” Nidhi added.


The offer will be available for local calls.

Vodafone collaborating with Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) sending out constant free alert SMS service on flood affected situation and precautions to people.
