CM holds an emergency flood review.

Guwahati/ 8th July’2017 (Prag News Desk): Chief Minister had an emergency flood review meeting with Ministers, MLAs & Government officials in Guwahati on Friday.

The flood situation in Assam has worsen each passing day and thus CM directed Ministers to visit flood affected districts, personally overview relief works & obtain first hand account of loss & grievances. He further allocated Sivasagar, Golaghat & Jorhat districts to Atul Bora, South Salmara & Goalpara to Pramila Rani Brahma for personal review on the flood situation in Assam.

Nagaon, Morigaon & Hojai to Kesab Mahanta, Barak valley districts to Parimal Sukhla and Lower Assam to Pallabo Chandas and Rihon Daimary. Majuli, Dhemaji, Sonitpur, Lakhimpur & Biswanath districts to Ranjit Dutta & Doley Naba.

CM also directed officials to work on a war footing & take measures for stopping erosion and provide relief to those affected. Taking a serious view of inconveniences faced by people due to bad roads, CM directed the PWD Minister to repair all potholes by July.

The Assam deluge is affecting 47 revenue circles and 857 revenue villages, took a toll on more than 3 lakh 94 thousand people, necessitating the government to open 128 relief camps to shelter 41,487 flood-affected people.
