Assam celebrates 71st Independence day amidst deluge

Guwahati/ 15th August’2017 (Prag News Desk):Assam celebrated country’s 71st independence day on Tuesday amidst deluge in many parts of the state.

Although many programs were held around the state on this special occasion,the celebration seemed cold due to devastating flood,which has claimed a total of 84 lives, inundating more than 3000 villages so far in the state.

When CM Sarbananda Sonowal hoisted the tricolour inside the Assam Veterinary College premises on Tuesday,the other members of his cabinet were also seen unfurling the Indian flag in their respective constituencies.

Meanwhile,in association with ACT, a bicycle rally was organised in Guwahati on Tuesday.During the rally,the participants were seen waving the tricolour throughout the city with vivacity and honour.
