Guwahati/ 30th August’2017 (Prag News Desk): The Border Security Force (BSF) seized 3,045 bottles of banned Phensedyl cough syrup at Murshidabad near Indo-Bangladesh border on Wednesday. The banned cough syrup was sent for smuggling to the international border towards Bangladesh which is used as narcotic substance. Narcotic substance is the primary category of drugs. BSF handed over the seized bottles to the Jalangi police station. BSF troops received information about the banned bottles on Wednesday around 4am at Murshidabad. According to source in near Indian border some people with head loads were approaching the Bangladesh border side. The banned syrup was banned by the company in 2016 which value is Rs 2,88,238. It is a unique method used by the smugglers to cross the international border. In the same year BSF’s South Bengal Frontier seized 98,054 bottle of Phensedyl cough syrup valued at Rs 1,17,14,769.
