Eight Manipuri girls rescued from trafficking in Myanmar
Guwahati/11th September’2017 (Prag News Desk): Eight Manipuri girls were successfully rescued as who were trafficked to Yangon in Myanmar. The girls made a call from Churachandpur to the office of SP, Churachandpur as the girls were likely to be sent to Thailand or Singapore. Soon after the information get into the hands of the police officials Home department immediately contact the Myanmar police and Indian Embassy officials in Yangon to rescue the trapped Indian girls. Immediately the Myanmar police officials successfully rescued the all eight trapped girls from a hostel located near the Yangon railway station, source added. Myanmar police officials informed the Indian Home department officials as the girls were rescued successfully as they were out of danger situation. Two persons have been arrested under Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act 1956.
