Assam Rifles tightens its security along Indo-Myanmar border
Guwahati/ 15th September’2017 (Prag News Desk): With concerns being raised about clearance of Rohingyas from Myanmar, the Assam Rifles said that its troops are on high alert along the Indo-Myanmar border to stop infiltration of the Myanmarese into India.
According to Assam Rifles the troops in Meghalaya are on high alert due to the threat of illegal migrant entering India through the international borders .
At present The Assam Rifles guards the 1624 km border with Myanmar across the States of Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh.
Patrolling all along the Indo Myanmar border was intensified over the last three days. “Till today, no illegal immigrant has been detected or intercepted. High priority is being given to the border town of Moreh and South Mizoram,” said Assam Rifles.
