AASU rallies against illegal Bangladeshis
Guwahati/ 16th September’2017 (Prag News Desk): All Assam Students Union held torchlight processions at their district and sub-divisional headquarters of the state on Wednesday demanding a special force to identify the foreigners, delete their names from voter list and deport them.
The union also demanded constitutional and economic safeguards to the indigenous people of the state , immediate action to seal the Indo-Bangla Border around the war zones and scrapping of the Citizenship(Amendment) Bill, which has sought to grant citizenship right to the Hindu Bangladeshis migrating from Bangladesh after March 24, 1971.
The reflection of the protest was noticed in Guwahati also. AASU chief adviser Samujjal Bhattacharyya and its general secretary Lurinjyoti Gogoi led the procession in the city.
