Indian film ‘Newton’ official entry for Oscars


Guwahati/22th September’2017 (Prag News Desk): Starring Rajkummar Rao latest film “Newton” got official entry for the Oscars on Friday. National award winner Rajkummar Rao announced the news via twitter which is a very good achievement for the Indian film industry. “Very happy to share this news that ‘Newton’ is India’s official entry to the Oscars this year. Congratulations team,” Rajkummar tweeted. The film is directed by Amit Masurkar which is his second film after his debut produced under the banner of Drishyam Films presented with an extraordinary story. Newton is the central character played by Rajkummar Rao who was a young government clerk sent on election duty to a Maoist-controlled town. In this film it shows his ideological struggle and how he puts him in an awkward situation during the election. Indian film maker Hansal Mehta congratulates the entire team for getting official entry in the Oscar. Film like ‘A Separation’ and ‘Children of Heaven’ can make entry in the Oscar then why not Newton, said Mehta.
