Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) flagged off.
Guwahati/ 1st October’2017 (Prag News Desk): Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) service for the tea garden community was launched for the tea garden community recently. Previously,three MMUs (ambulances) were flagged off for Bokajan, Deopani and Chowkihola respectively.
The MMU service was officially flagged off by Khonsing Rongpi, EM of Health and Family Welfare Department, KAAC in presence of Madurjya Dhekial Phukan, EM, KAAC and others senior officials of the Health Department. The MMU was inaugurated in collaboration with Hidusthan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT) at Joint Director Office, Diphu Civil Hospital. People of tea garden areas admired the steps taken by the Health Department.
Khonsing Rongpi, EM of Health and Family Welfare Department said that the initiative taken by the KAAC will change the healthcare accessibility of the tea garden community of the hill district. This is the first phase of the programme and more services of the Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) will be introduced in several places of the district, Rongpi added.
