Mumbai: 17-year-old Ashma Shaikh, who lives on the foothpath at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan with her parents and brothers has cleared her SSC exams (Staff Selection Commission). As it was difficult to study during the day due to the continuous honking and traffic, Ashma used to study at night under the streetlight.
She is a student of Hirjeebhoy Allahrakhia Laljeebhoy Sajan Girls High School in Dongri. She secured 40 per cent in her exams. Her father is a lime vendor. Ashma credited her family for the result. She mentioned that they have been very supportive of her career.
However, her family owes Rs 6,000 in dues to the tutor as her father has been out of work because of Coronavirus Pandemic.
