Guwahati/ 12th of April’2017(Prag News Desk): The Tutsa community most festively starts their ethnic celebrations at the Pongtu Festival at Khonsa, Arunchal Pradesh. The state is a vast territory with varied and colorful tribes of vibrant cultures.
“Change has begun and it’s coming to Arunachal Pradesh” said Deputy chief minister Chowna Mein addressing the people on the inaugural day of the festival on Tuesday. Also highlighting the initiatives in the budget, Mein pointed out that it had been a great start to the year with 5 crore investment conferred for research and development of the living heritage of the tribes in Arunachal Pradesh.He further urged that tea and rubber cultivation should be acquired over traditional cultivation.
The festival showcased the rice culture of the Tutsa community who performed Ramui Bong- the famous war dance incorporated with other traditional dances.
