OIL brings in new opportunities for youths of Assam.
Guwahati/ 2nd June’2017 (Prag News Desk): In a meeting with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Chairman and Managing Director of the OIL declared that around 2,500 youths in the state will be appointed in the next five years.
In an official release of the meeting, CM urged OIL to generate more employment opportunities for the youth and execute CSR projects that aims at providing self-employment opportunities to the youths. CM also proposed “waste to wealth”- that will be deliberated upon further by OIL.
The OIL CMD expressed that OIL has a vision of supplying piped gas to all the major towns of the State and requested the Chief Minister to make arrangements to connect the State with the national gas grid, which now extends up to Haldia.
Further excerpts were that Sonowal has requested the OIL CMD to develop Duliajan as an Oil City. Also, to gear “mission clean” OIL should take steps for beautification of the bank of the river Brahmaputra from Dibrugarh to Bogibeel bridge.
