Guwahati/20th June’2017 (Prag News Desk): Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal reviews the mobility of the district administrations for handling floods in the State.
CM Sonowal directs the deputy commissioners to the flood-affected people and fast-track the relief operations in the affected areas.
The message was conveyed through a video conference, he asked the deputy commissioners to check on the supplies -medicine, food items, fodder for the livestock. He also administered country boats into service and help in transportation during relief and rescue operations. Sonowal further stressed upon the deployment of SDRF in rescue operations and said that proper assessment must be conducted to keep security at par.
Incidentally, the revenue department has released funds to all the districts. Here, the Chief Minister announced that timely payment of ex gratia amount to families of flood victims within 48 hours must be excercised.
The Chief Minister’s Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojana (CMSGUY) is a model that supports initiating series of developmental activities in order to improve the economy, development and creates employment in the state.
CM Sonowal has already approved three entry points for execution of CMSGUY programme under which tractors will be distributed in the first phase to each revenue village of the State.
The CMSGUY that includes distribution of tractors to each revenue village, setting up of knowledge centre at gaon panchayat level and development of playground in each village.
The Chief Minister said that the Government of Assam has tied up with commercial banks for providing credit support to eligible applicants.
The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in the meeting and instructed the DCs to complete distribution in a time-bound manner and carry out extensive publicity of the scheme so that BPL families come forward to avail its benefit.
