Guwahati/ 28th June’2017 (Prag News Desk): Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal held a review meeting of the Pension & Public Grievances Dept in Guwahati and took stock of performance and workings.
Here, CM Sonowal directed officials to clear backlog of pension cases at the earliest and called for complete digitisation of the pension sanction system.
He stated, “officials must clear backlog of pension cases at the earliest and called for complete digitisation of the pension sanction system to pace us the case results.”
Pension & Public Grievances (P & PG) Department was created on 02/09/1986 that regulates administration of all Legislation, Rules and Monitoring realating to Pension, Provident Fund and Group Insurance Scheme.
The department administers: The Assam Services (Pension) Rules 1969, The Assam Services (Extraordinary) Pension Rules, 1963, The Assam Services (Commutation of Pension) Rules,1965, The Assam Services (Compassionate fund) Rules, 1962, General Provident Fund (Assam Services) Rules, 1937, State Government Employees Group Insurance Scheme, 1983 and Special Family Pension Scheme, 1985.
CM also directed the department to implement online system for monitoring of public grievances relating to all State Govt departments.
