Guwahati/ 30th June’2017 (Prag News Desk): Thousands of children were trapped by Islamic State (IS) militants in the old city of Mosul said by UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
Peter Hawkins, Unicef’s representative of Iraq says, “Children are facing multiple treats to their lives and hundreds of civilians were reported killed as used as human shields.”
“Children who got escaped from the IS militant trap were mostly seen of psychological scars of the conflicts,” Hawkins added.
Unicef were working to protect the children from ongoing violence as to keep them out from harm circumstances, soured added.
The Iraqi troops were fighting to rescue civilians in the old city of Mosul.
According to the UN reports, nearby 100,000 civilians were trapped in Mosul by IS militant.
Since 2014, about 400 km north of Baghdad was totally under the control of IS.
