Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif disqualified by Supreme Court
Guwahati/ 28th July’2017 (Prag News Desk): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stepped down for his position on Friday.
Pakistan Supreme Court have disqualified from his position for holding office in the Panama Papers case.
The Prime Minister house issued a notification saying that Sharif having reservation on the SC’s verdict.
Five panel judges have taken out the decision against Sharif.
The panel of SC has been investing his alleged links to offshore accounts and overseas properties which was owned by his three children.
The investigation committee which formed by the Supreme Court in April 2017 concluded in mid July which revealed incriminating documents that pointed Prime Minister and his family is engaged with corruption.
The Panama Papers leak sparked mass protests in Pakistan and calls from opposition political groups for a panel to investigate him and his children over their alleged offshore accounts.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was protesting against the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at Lahore from recent days.
Supreme Court directed their committee to find out the depth with investigation over corruption allegations.
It was happen for the first time in the history of Pakistan that a practicing leader has been disqualified with judicial process. And the leader who got suspended is the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
