120 killed in Nepal flood

Guwahati/ 16th August’2017 (Prag News Desk): At least 120 people died in a devastating flood at Terai in Nepal on Tuesday. According to the Nepal officials, 35 people were reported as missing and 39 were severely injured in the flood as injured were admitted to the hospital. Nepal’s 75 districts were destroyed by flood. 80 per cent of land came under deluge as educational institutions, hospitals, public houses were damaged. Rescue official were ongoing their relief duty as they distributed Rs 200,000 relief materials and provided Rs 10,000 to the family whose house were destroyed in flood. Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba visited the flood affected areas and said government support will be always with the victims. Seven helicopters, 26,700 army personnel including motor boats were provided to rescue the victims and sent them to the safer zone. At least 3,000 houses were damaged in flood and over 22,000 people were displaced. Officials said that death toll would rise.
