Air India CMD Ashwani Lohani is new chairman of Indian Railways
Guwahati/ 23rd August’2017 (Prag News Desk): Air India CMD Ashwani Lohani is named as the new chairman of the Railway Board on Wednesday. Lohani to replace AK Mittal who stepped down from charges after multiple train accidents. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet today officially approved the name of Lohani as new chairman as Mittal’s resignation is accepted by the railway ministry. Lohani holds four engineering degrees as he earlier worked as Mechanical Engineer for Indian Railways in 1980. Lohani was credited with the turnaround of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation and the Indian Tourism Development Corporation. Along with his profession Lohani published two books on steam engines and other on management.
