Guwahati/1st September’2017 (Prag News Desk): India and Switzerland have signed two agreements in the rail sector on Thursday. The agreement was signed after the bilateral talks between the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting Swiss President Doris Leuthard. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Indian Ministry of Railways and the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications of Switzerland and another MoU is signed between the Konkan Railways and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich. The agreement was made on technical cooperation in the rail sector. The agreement will help to promote the technical cooperation in the areas of railway safety which will promote efficiency and sustainability in the transport sector. The Indian railways modernization will create opportunity for the Switzerland railways to engage with Indian railways industries.
