Implementation of NEET, forced a girl to suicide
Guwahati/2nd September’2017 (Prag News Desk): A 17-year-old girl Anitha from Tamil Nadu committed suicide as she had studied for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) under extreme circumstances. Anitha hanged herself at her home in Ariyalur district. Nine days before her death Supreme Court made mandatory of NEET exam to get admission to medical courses in Tamil Nadu. Anitha’s dream is to become a doctor as she had scored 1,176 marks out of 1,200 in Class XII. She had scored 199.75 of 200 in engineering and 196.75 for medical which she would directly get set with NEET entrance. In NEET exam she scored 86 per cent. After the implementation of NEET Anitha filed a petition in the court against the State government. Anitha’s parents have stated she had a big dream to become a doctor so she rejected to join aeronautical engineering course offered by Madras Institute of Technology. The immediate implementation of NEET exam by the State government for medical took a life of a innocent girl who dreamed to be a doctor.
