Guwahati/7th September’2017 (Prag News Desk): At least 164 people were killed and more than 165 people were injured due to heavy rains in June across Pakistan, said weather officials. The worst monsoon hits with 38 fatalities in the Sindh and Punjab provinces as the country’s National Disaster Management Authority said on Wednesday. As monsoon hits Pakistan every year of June and continuous till September. The continuous rains caused deluge and left hundreds of people homeless. NDMA and government rescue teams were carrying out the rescue operations in the affected area. The government provided a total of 873 tents with 1,150 food bags for flood affected people. So far 590 blankets and 1,140 sleeping bags were distributed. Three boats were working in the operation to rescue trapped people in Karachi. According to NDMA, the flood levels were under control as river is flowing at normal levels and also mentioned more rains likely to hit Punjab and Sindh over the next 24 hours.
