Guwahati/9th September’2017 (Prag News Desk): Death toll rises to 58 after a powerful earthquake hits the Mexico’s Pacific coast on Thursday night. The quake measures 8.2 magnitudes as the quake hits at around 12.49am at 120 km off the Pacific Coast in the southwest of Tres Picos in Mexico, said US Geological Survey. Rescue officials were searching for people who got buried after the collapse of buildings. Nearly 7,000 homes were badly damaged. According to report, the quake damaged 1,700 homes, 700 schools and 18 other public buildings in Chiapas. This is one of the biggest earthquakes that hit the country with 100 years. The earthquake also hits Guatemala along with Mexico. Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales reported as at least one death in the country and said further details is yet to come. Around 23,000 people have experienced the tremors of violent shaking, according to USGS. According to the reports numbers of houses were damaged and many people got injured in Guatemala. The Centre said warned the public as tsunami could hit the coasts of Mexico, Guatemala, Panama, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras and even Ecuador.
