Olympic medalist Sindhu defeated Japanese Minatsu Mitani with a 21-19, 16-21, 21-10 and clinched victory in the quarter finals. The fight between both the shuttlers was very close as Sindhu fight off successfully to lad the victory. Sindhu three times World Championships medallist equalised 2-2 in her career in face-to-face with the Japanese. On the other side Chinese He Bingjiao defeated South Korean Sung Ji Hyun with a 21-19 16-21 21-19 victory in an hour and 17 minutes. Sindhu to take on against Bingjiao as she trails with a record of 3-5 in head-to-head.
