Guwahati/ 2nd December’2017 (Prag News Desk): Cyclone Ockhi continues to damage and seize lives in the southern part. This powerful cyclone claimed 14 lives on Friday, hit the area with heavy rains in Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli.
The Met department made awareness to the people, to remain alert as the wind is presumed to move towards Lakshadweep and is expected to intensify in the next 24 hours.
This heavy rains agitated the inhabitants in Tamil Nadu, as the roads are restricted with traffic. A low-lying bridge was submerged in the Thamirabarani river, causing traffic to remain halted on the Karupanthurai-Melapalyam link road. At least 200 fishermen were rescued by a joint operation carried out by Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard.
