Guwahati/12th December’2017(Prag News Desk): The famous Hindu mythological Adam’s Bridge or ‘Ram Setu’ between India and Sri Lanka has come to the spotlight after a US science channel show had revealed that a man-made megalithic structure like Ram-Setu actually existed!
The ‘setu’ or the bridge is a chain of limestone shoals, between Pamban Island, also known as Rameswaram Island, off the south-eastern coast of Tamil Nadu, India, and Mannar Island, off the north-western coast of Sri Lanka. Geological evidence hints that this bridge is a former land connecting India and Sri Lanka.
Where mythology meets science, the parallel lines tend to collide thus, to the thought that Ram-Setu is in fact man-made against the Hindu mythology that it is a result of an divine intervention.
The channel show affirmed that the research team has found a line of rocks 30 miles long between Srilanka and India.
The stones in the image are sitting on a ‘sandbar’, which occurs in areas with shallow water. According to the assessment, the channel suggested that the sand could have been accumulated between the land masses thus, suggesting the Rama’s bridge as one of the largest man-made bridge on earth.
