PT Usha raises Rs 21 lakh to support young athletes…
Guwahati/19th December’2017 (Prag News Desk): The greatest athletes and the ‘Queen of Indian Track and Field’, PT Usha raises Rs.21 lakh to run her sport school for young athletes.
She is the first Indian women athlete to make a mark at the finals of an Olympic event also won the Semifinals in the 1984 Olympics held at Los Angeles.
P.T.Usha had become an icon for Indian women athletes. She received the Padma Shri and the Arjuna award in the year 1985. So far, She has won 101 International medals.
The living legendary athlete has taken a very great initiative of raising funds to help and support her school. Where she trains young athletes to prepare them for future Asian Games and Olympics. The Usha School of Athletes formed in the year 2001 kozhikode in Kerala. The school aims to provide free training to the young athletes also shelter and food are given to the trainers from all across the country. The young athletes were selected by Usha through selection process. Most of the young women are from underprivileged backgrounds but have tremendous skills to make the nation proud internationally.
This fundraising campaign aims to raise funds to support the young athletes for 6 months. At this time, the school needs a lot of funds to the training programme.
