Censor Board clears the film “Padmavati” with UA certificate…


Guwahati/30th December’2017 (Prag News Desk): The examining committee constituted by the CBFC, popularly known as the Censor Board decided to give the film “Padmavati” a UA certificate.

The title of the film is decided to change to Padmavat, and deleting scenes that were seen to glorify the outlawed practice of Sati.

The examining committee met on Thursday and agreed to certify the film provided the filmmakers change the title to Padmavat, which they attributed as the basis for the creative source.

The film is an epic written in 1540 by Sufi poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi and is based on a fictional story about Delhi Sultan Alauddin Khalji and his desire for Padmavati, the Queen of Chittor.
