Guwahati/30th December’2017 (Prag News Desk): 25 members of a family were rescued by Pakistani police who were held hostage by a drunken relative in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.
Police fired tear gas canisters into the home after the man shot and wounded a relative and a police officer on 29 December.
Abdur Rahim was injured as he tussle with police. Rahim held them hostage at gunpoint starting at midnight Friday, said relatives.
The man got badly drunk after losing in gambling, including machinery from the family’s construction business, said the investigators.
Rahim will undergo medical tests to ascertain his mental condition and will be prosecuted accordingly.
