Monti Rajkhowa from Assam has made the state and country proud as she scaled the world’s third highest mountain in the world, Mount Kanchenjunga on May 20.

The Executive Engineer of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), who is currently residing in Mumbai, is also the first ONGC Lady Officer to summit Kanchenjunga.

ONGC’s 5-member team comprising Nirmal Kumar, Pankaj Joshi, Monty Rajkhowa, Palkesh G Kalma and Gaurav Kadian had set off for the expedition and finally reached the peak on May 20.

It may be noted, Rajkhowa was also part of the Mount Everest summit team last year and managed to scale till camp 4.

Monti Rajkhowa not only has brought laurels to her state but also for the women fraternity as a whole who have been fighting social stigmas to come at par with men in the society.

The state wishes Monti Rajkhowa for a successful life and congratulates her on accomplishing this tough task.
