Russia demands Justice for Nilotpal & Abhijeet

After India now Russia demands justice for the two Guwahati youths who were mercilessly beaten to death by an angry mob in Karbi Anglong.

The bloodied faces and piercing cries of Nilotpal and Abhijeet is reverberating in Russia where they have friends and fans of their music.

On June 8, two friends Nilotpal Das (29), a sound engineer and Abhijeet Nath (30), a businessman-travelling in a black SUV, were stopped at around 7:30 pm by the local villagers of Panjuri Kacharigaon under Dokmoka Police Station, Karbi Anglong. They were dragged out of their vehicle and brutally beaten to death by the locals on suspicion that they were child-lifters.

Deceased Nilotpal’s friends from Russia have joined the Facebook group- Justice for Nilotpal and Abhijeet-and posted photographs where they are seen holding placards demanding justice for the lynching victims. Ellene Lemonade, who was a close friend of Nilotpal, took the lead to bring people of Russia together.

It may be mentioned that post the photographs of Ellene and Nilotpal went viral on social media, she was stalked and harassed on social media platforms. Exasperated with the frequent messages flooding her Facebook inbox, Ellene on Monday asked people to stop sending her messages.

Post his death, Elle took to Facebook to express her grief over losing a dear friend. “Thank you for this trip, I will never forget…Rest in peace, Neil..I’ll keep you in my heart (sic),” she posted on her Facebook timeline on June 9. She also shared photographs with Nilotpal, where both can be seen basking in the sun.
