46 Pakistani citizens refused entry at the Attari-Wagah border by Pakistani Officials

Amritsar: A group of 46 Pakistani citizens, including 23 children, were sent back from the Attari-Wagah border after the Pakistan government refused entry over the non-availability of the proper covid report.

Reportedly, the group was supposed to be repatriated from Amritsar after a year of staying in India.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Arunpal Singh, Protocol officer at Attari-Wagah Border, stated, “A group of 46 Pakistani arrived in India a year ago to visit the sacred places and were trapped in Amritsar due to Covid induced lockdown.”

“Today, they were permitted to return to their land but the Pakistan officials returned them from the zero line due to the unavailability of a proper covid report,” Singh added.

“They were tested again today and will send them tomorrow,” said Singh.

Earlier, 15-20 days ago, the group came to the Attari-Wagah border without prior permission from the authority but was sent back.

Wazir, a Pakistani citizen, asserted, “Despite undergoing covid-19 test on Monday the Pakistani government didn’t allow us to go to our motherland. Our test is being done once again.”
