75 Refugees from Pakistan were granted Indian Citizenship in Indore

Indore: 75 Sindhi Refugees from Pakistan who have lived in India for many years, received Indian Citizenship on the occasion of India’s 75th Independence Day celebration.

The citizenship certificate was handed over to them in the presence of BJP members of Parliament Shankar Lalwani, Collector Manish Singh, and former MLA Jitu Jarati at an event on Tuesday, in Indore.

Murlilal Madhvani, who has been living here for 3 decades was delighted and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for granting him citizenship.

Another refugee, named Anjali Kalra, said.“ We came to India 17 years ago from Pakistan, including family. There were a lot of problems for Sindhis in Pakistan. I thank the Indian Government for accepting us.”

BJP MP from Indore Shankar Lalwani also alleged that the Hindu temples are attacked in Pakistan and these people face Religious Persecution in that country and also mentioned that around 1000 Hindus are forcibly converted in Pakistan’s Sindh province every year and they have no other option but to find shelter in India.

He also said that the Indian Government is doing everything possible to help the refugees and have already given more than 600 citizenship in Indore alone.
