    COVID cases in India surges, Maharashtra at the top

    New Delhi: India has recorded the highest number of Covid cases this month since last year. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that the country saw a rise of a total number of 131 deaths and 24,492 new cases in the last 24 hours.

    The total number of Covid cases in this country has now come up to a total of 1,14,09,831 and total number of deaths recorded is 1,58,856 with Maharashtra at the top of this deadly race, recording a total number of 15,051 COVID- 19 cases.

    The vaccination drive in India had already begun at the start of this year. The second phase has started which includes the healthcare workers, people over 60 and people over 45 with health risks being vaccinated.
