    Chattisgarh government cancels offline classes amid Covid-19 threat
    Digital Desk: The government of Chattisgarh has decided to cancel all offline classes for colleges and universities amid the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the state. 

    Moreover, the government has decided to postpone board examinations. An official stated that the government has also set an attendance cap for educational and non-academic employees.

    In its order, the state’s higher education department asked the colleges to conduct the first and second semester exams of all courses online or in a combined (online+offline) method.

    “Physical classes in all government and private colleges and universities should be immediately restricted. Instead, classes should be held online,” the public relations department official stated, quoting the order.

    “Besides, instructions should be issued to educational and non-academic staffers of universities and colleges to follow their workplace in one-third of their total strength based on roster strategy,” the official stated.

    The first and third semester tests of all programs for the academic term 2021-22 should be guided online or combined. The institutes concerned may administer precise guidelines in this respect, the order added.

    The state government has previously shut schools in those wards where the positivity rate of COVID-19 infection is four per cent or overhead. Following that directive, schools have been closed in several wards, including in the state capital Raipur.
