    Fodder Scam: Lalu Prasad Yadav sentenced 5 years in prison and Rs. 60 lakhs fine
    Digital Desk: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav was convicted by a special CBI court of embezzling Rs 139.35 crore from Doranda Treasury through the Fodder Scam. Has been sentenced to 5 years in prison. Lalu Prasad Yadav will have to pay a Rs 60 lakh fine.

    Apart from Lalu Prasad Yadav, Mohammad Saheed was sentenced to 5 years in prison and a Rs 1.5 crore fine, Mahinder Singh Bedi was sentenced to 4 years and a Rs 1 crore fine, Umesh Dubey was sentenced to 4 years, Satendra Kumar Mehra was sentenced to 4 years, Rajesh Mehra was sentenced to 4 years, Tripurari was sentenced to 4 years, and Mahendra Kumar Kundan was sentenced in the Fodder Scam.

    Dr. Gauri Shankar was sentenced to four years in prison regarding the same Fodder Scam, Jaswant Sahai to three years in prison and a fine of Rs two lakh, Ravindra Kumar to four years in prison, Prabhat Kumar to four years in prison, Ajit Kumar to four years in prison and a fine of Rs two lakh, Birsa Orao to four years in prison and a fine of Rs three lakh, and Nalini Ranjan to three years in prison.

    According to BMP Singh, three additional offenders, including Lalu Prasad, are being treated at RIMS for health reasons. The jail administration arranged for all 38 inmates to appear in court through video conference. He stated that, in addition to Lalu Prasad Yadav, Dr. K.M. Prasad and Yashwant Sahai had been accepted to RIMS.
