Digital Desk: For the region's development, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati and Assam government authorities have collaborated.
A road map was prepared today at a meeting between a delegation of officials from various departments, including Mines and Minerals, Industry, Commerce, Public Enterprises, and Transport (including inland waterways), led by KK Dwivedi, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, and IIT Guwahati Director TG Sitharam, to discuss the region's future course of action.

IIT Guwahati was one of the main discussion topics. According to the institute statement, this initiative is expected to aid in the training of young students and the involvement of seasoned professionals in developing ways and means in the form of research and technical guidance to harness the abundant natural resources spread across Assam and the northeast.
"IIT Guwahati's engagement in arranging the worldwide road safety colloquium would be taken up immediately," according to an IIT Guwahati statement. "Efforts to improve road safety across the region will be intensified in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, Government of Assam."

The conversation also included suggestions for how to improve tea technology. IIT Guwahati will support research on the application of tea components in diverse fields, including medicine, health, and wellness.
"Efforts to highlight the relevance of different types of tea and their rich constituents will be carried out in collaboration with state officials," the statement continued.
"As per the proposal of the state government, IIT Guwahati will be very happy to contribute primarily in the areas focusing on the exploration of mines and minerals, commerce and entrepreneurship development, involvement of drones in various sectors, transport sector - inland water transport, water buses, road safety, aspects related to skill development in multiple upcoming sectors, and establishing various centers of excrement," said Professor TG Sitharam, Director IIT Guwahati.
In addition, the Assam government has requested IIT Guwahati's cooperation and support in the projected Assam Skill University. A research and development center is intended to be accommodated in numerous aspects to take after inland water transportation under the authority of the engineering department (marine engine design, designing of vessels, and its repairing and servicing hub.
